@hammer082 I have a HTC legend with Android 2.1, it’s alright. But I don’t use the features all the time, I just look at the clock and send sms messages. In my opinion all of them, Android, Iphone, whatever… is nothing but pointless junk.

One aspect of an LCD screen not mentioned here is the back lighting, which is a major contributor to eye strain.

@capgirl95 They are heavy and expensive. Plus no one reads anymore.
This device here might make one look smart in the eyes of those who believe that good books can be read in public. Which could mean it is worth selling a kidney to buy it. Yours of somebody else’s.

@Paddis92 If they start putting textbooks on these things, I promise i can find you more than one college student who won’t care how it looks, as long as it has all their textbooks on the one device, regardless of the initial expense and needing to charge it. Also, the Kindle has free 3g and apparently the new one lets you access the web, no monthly bills or contracts. All they really need to do is put a notetaking ability on it.

@igob8a Exactly! Why the hell don’t people realize that?? It seems they judge it before reading a single long book on it

13 henk8791 September 7, 2010 at 3:41 am

@Paddis92 Ordinary books are in not cheaper (in the long run).

14 IronFreee September 7, 2010 at 4:17 am

An E-reader primary purpose is to read books without destroying your eyes.
Apple didn’t created Ipads to read books, they made Ibooks for selling Ipads.

Very thorough review….thanks!

16 bfg2600 September 7, 2010 at 5:05 am

lol because books are freaking heavy

17 Paddis92 September 7, 2010 at 5:59 am

I still don’t get what’s wrong with ordinary books. They’re cheaper, they won’t run out of battery, they look better.

@easterlingderek34 That’s what my dad did.

19 ggn1 September 7, 2010 at 6:28 am

I saw a douchebag use an ipad in public, an he’s only using it to show off that his chinese dad’s corrupt government money paid for it while he’s studying abroad overseas in North America. God what an asshole.

I told my self that I was not going to get an iPad because it’s a bigger version of the iPhone. I will have to say, it’s a much different experience and I gave been loving my iPad 3G. I’ve had it for 3 months now. Love it, love it. And you know it’s just going to get better. Soon, were going to see other tablets on the market. I love the competition

22 Watchdawg September 7, 2010 at 8:08 am

I would rather buy an Android phone than a shitty Ipad, it’s both expensive and useless at the same time.

23 icoopers September 7, 2010 at 8:41 am

@dynamite2T LOL! let them live in LA LA land :) with that ridiculous slow interface in that Kindle and enjoy your iPad LOL!

24 icoopers September 7, 2010 at 8:53 am

@japazilian Who the hell is going to read for 10 days heck!! or 10 hrs straight!!?? Be realistic. That Kindle has one task and bty, it does it very slow with a pathetic interface.

25 icoopers September 7, 2010 at 9:02 am
